From survey, it is observed that a chronic Gum Infection can lead to not only many Dental problems such as shifting of teeth from their position to loose teeth which may ultimately need to be pulled out. It also can affect the health of your heart and kidneys. It is also being noted in clinical trials and increase in diabetic incidence of many patients having chronic periodontal condition compare to group with no gum problem. It’s best to see a dentist for regular checkup and cleaning appointment every six months in the presence of active periodontal conditions with bleeding gums every 4 months. Dentist may suggest a treatment called Deeply Cleaning where they can clean the teeth under the gum line by giving local anesthesia before treatment which may or may not be followed by surgical intervention, depending on the response of the gums to deep cleaning. At the end we can conclude that regular dental visits keep us healthy, wealthy and in long run wise. |
